Quincy Banfield

Urban Agriculture and Forestry Expert (Roots for Resilience Lead)

I am an environmental professional and community advocate with a passion for urban agriculture, food sovereignty, and ecological restoration. Through my work with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) in the Restoration and Infrastructure Division, I have contributed to watershed restoration projects focused on stream naturalization, environmental resilience, and sustainable land management.

I am actively involved with the Toronto Black Farmers & Food Growers Collective (TBFFGC), where I support initiatives that advance Black food sovereignty, youth engagement, and equitable access to food systems education. My work focuses on creating pathways for youth to develop practical skills in urban agriculture, environmental stewardship, and food security while fostering leadership, confidence, and community connection.
