Our Campagnes

Each year, BEI launches new initiatives that contribute to a coherent set of long-term campaigns. These campaigns are grounded in scientific evidence, ancestral ecological knowledge, and a historically informed vision of social and environmental justice. Together, they advance the four pillars of BEI’s mission: (1) organizing communities through environmental education; (2) expanding and multiplying access to green jobs; (3) catalyzing a community-led energy movement; and (4) advancing environmental health and climate resilience.
This campaign invites remembrance rather than instruction. It recognizes that this knowledge has lived quietly through generations, even when disrupted, and that it can guide how we live today.
This campaign restores that understanding — approaching health as something rooted in environment, and community.
This campaign affirms that the green future is built through both thoughtful design and skilled work, carried out with care for people and the planet.
This campaign reflects an understanding present in many African traditions: resources are cared for collectively, with attention to balance and the wellbeing of generations to come.
This campaign restores that closeness by bringing trees, soil, food, and green spaces directly into neighborhoods — making nature present, familiar, and accessible again.
